The short version
We don't collect, store, transmit, or sell any of your data. There is nothing to opt out of, because nothing is gathered in the first place.
The website
The file counter on recoversaves.com reads your CSV entirely inside your browser using the standard FileReader API. Your file is never uploaded; this site makes no network requests with its contents. The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics.
The extension
The extension operates only when you click it, only on reddit.com, using your own logged-in browser session. Your saved posts, your imported data-export CSV, and every recovered archive are processed locally and stored only in your browser's extension storage on your device. Nothing is sent to us — we operate no servers that receive user data.
The extension requests the minimum permissions needed: acting on the active reddit.com tab when you click, local storage for job progress, and the downloads permission to save the files you export. It contacts extensionpay.com solely to process the optional one-time purchase.
Payments
The optional $10 purchase is processed by ExtensionPay and Stripe. We never see your card details. Their handling of payment data is described in their own privacy policies: ExtensionPay and Stripe. Refunds: email us — we refund on request.
